Book
At 27.6cm x 18.2cm and 72 pages, this book is a perfect size for slipping into a bag or working on at home. The cover is a bright coloured design from the interior of the book with a white background.
The pages are lovely and smooth, and there have been no issues with waterbased ink bleeding through, although it does shadow onto the reverse.
Images are single sided, so most mediums shouldn’t be a problem. The back of each image features a quote related to the image.
The images do not enter the spine, and the spine is glue bound, so there is little chance of accidental removal

Images
The images are mandalas in Valentina Harper’s signature style accompanied by a quote. Some of the quotes are within the mandala, or surrounding it, some are colourable, some are black.
The mandalas themselves vary from large and intricate, to smaller and less detailed, and any combination of these.
The intricacy remains quite detailed throughout, with most of the mandalas containing smaller areas and details throughout. Line thickness remains thin-moderate throughout which suits the image style quite well.
The subject matter of this book is enough for me to recommend to anyone – no matter the reason you colour!
For times when your concentration is low, many of the images are both basic and sectioned, allowing you to focus on one or one part of the image at a time – something that can be very helpful when anxiety is overwhelming or you just can’t pay as much attention.
For times when you are able to concentrate and need something to dive into and lose yourself in, there are also more intricate images that could take hours to complete.
The intricacy and line thickness means that this book may not be suitable for those with vision or fine motor impairments, but as always, please check the images beforehand.
This is one of the few books I think would suit anyone – the subject matter, illustration and fluctuating intricacy level makes it wonderful for any level of colourist of concentration.
